Zombie Dash

In Zombie Dash, you're always being chased: behind you, a crowd of zombies is coming at you, and in front of you, a yellow-and-black-striped wall is blocking the road. If your character hits something, they fall right away, and zombies rush in to fill the gap.

Each level has an end point; you can't keep going forever.

There is a white line at the end of the race, and each level has a different goal. Your figure moves forward on its own; you only decide which way it turns. If you fail, you can start over right away without having to wait.

With this design, you can try again as soon as you realise what you did wrong, without having to wait for the screen to load. It gets a lot harder as you go through the levels, with much more complicated patterns of obstacles. You need to be very focused and patient to move forward.

Zombie Dash and two threats that don't go away

When you hit a barrier, you fall right away.

The striped yellow and black wall is fixed to the lane. When there is a collision, there is an instant fall because there is no frame to cushion the blow. Most of the time, new players lose because their reactions are slow, and they see the barrier too late before they turn. You need to look ahead more and turn before you need to.

Also, zombies don't just come at you from behind. At the start of the level, there are some hazards on both sides of the road. Making hasty lane changes can send you right into them instead of getting away.

There should be coins on the road, not traps.

As you run, coins are spread out on the race track. A secondary goal that gives each run more meaning than just getting to the finish line is collecting coins while avoiding obstacles. Besides that, coins can be used to start your run over after a crash and unlock new game features. If the escape route and the coins are lined up, you should collect them. If they are not, you should focus on avoiding obstacles first, since collecting prizes too quickly is a surefire way to fail.

Only one option; timing is a skill

To turn, press A/D or the left and right button keys. Do not jump or attack. You need to be very good at one thing: turning at the right time, in the right direction, and just before you hit something.

When should you pick this game?

This game is fun to play for 5 to 10 minutes at a time, and it doesn't take long to figure out how it works. The low-poly graphics are small and don't need any special settings to work well in browsers. This game is easy to get into right away if you're used to escape games with clear levels instead of ones that go on forever.

Zombie Dash doesn't have any extras. Even after you get used to the levels, the game stays intense thanks to its simple rules, steady pace, and pressure from both sides. More important than reflexes early on is being able to read the track plan. Skill is what decides whether you finish or lose in the middle.
